La Shark are today's Record Of The Day: http://www.recordoftheday.com/record-of-the-day/track.php?trackID=6104
"Sure to appeal to fans of Cymbals and Talking Heads this is pretty different to anything I’ve heard in a long while" http://shinyshinynewnewnew.wordpress.com/2011/10/17/la-shark-magazine-cover/
And here's some press for the band:
"They bring a healthy dollop of art to their madness as rave synths are moulded around tight guitar lines and sun-baked reggae bass-lines.’ - NME
“ La Shark are something a little special for sure, and definitely a treat for anyone bored of the usual indie fodder” – The Fly
“La Shark offer great beats, quirky lyrics, pretty harmonies, pandemonic circus-clown percussion and overall weirdness…they create intelligent anarchy which makes for addictive listening” – Time Out
and some general info:
La Shark have already racked up an impressive number of accolades in their time together. Born out of South East London via Egypt, Paris and the Lake District, La Shark have toured all over the globe, performing alongside the likes of Mumford & Sons, The Maccabees and Paloma Faith. With their previous singles receiving huge support from NME Radio, BBC6, XFM and earning rave reviews from Artrocker, Time Out and The Fly, La Shark’s flag only looks set to be raised higher.
The last few years have been nothing short of a whirlwind adventure for the band; challenging the pretentions of a worn out music industry, penning beautifully individual pop music and establishing their reputation as one of Britain’s most promising live acts. Now joining forces with London’s Popular for the release of ‘Magazine Cover’ La Shark are a band to get excited about, something that doesn't come along too often.
